A/C Repair

We use our heater and air conditioner units all year long, they need to work properly. To make sure your system is working properly, it needs to be maintained and serviced for proper use. There’s early warning signs of a malfunctioning heating and A/C unit that are noticeable to every driver.

- The heat or A/C no longer warms or cools the air.
-Air that comes into the car has an odor or fogs the windows.
-Your defroster takes a long time to clear the window.
-The heater and A/C unit works in reverse.

We perform a complete assessment of your heating and cooling system. Check for leaks, examine the compressor belt, and check the interior blower.

Let us solve your heating and A/C problem so you can drive comfortably knowing that your car or truck is running perfectly.

Alternator.jpg

Alternator Service & Repair

The charging system on your car plays an essential role in everything electrical. If your charging system is not working correctly, it can cause major electrical problems. It pays to have an experienced mechanic check and replace your alternator.

Battery problems often seem like alternator problems. Some of the most common things that happen are your car not starting, your battery going dead, the belt squealing, or the battery light coming on in your vehicle. These are the most common signs of an alternator going bad.

We have all the proper tools and equipment to diagnose the problem and fix what is wrong.

Battery Check & Installation

There is never a right time for your vehicle’s battery to fail. When it does, it’s usually in the middle of a cold winter in Ohio. Whether you’re on your way to work, going on vacation, or just cruising around town, the dreaded “click click click” sound of a dead battery is the absolute last thing you want to hear.

Checking the condition of your battery is something we do every time you bring your vehicle in for service. Batteries do not last forever. Even new batteries can have dead cells or are mysteriously drained which means there’s a problem somewhere else.

Brake ob.jpg

Brake Inspection & Repair

Sometimes you can hear a brake problem and sometimes you can feel the problem in your foot when applying the brakes. Does the steering wheel shake when you apply the brakes? Many brake problems happen without warning. When the brake pad starts to squeal or the grinding of the rotor makes your skin tingle that’s the first warning that you need new brakes. Brakes are an easy item to forget about over the years. They’re very important for the safety of yourself, the protection of your family, your vehicle, the protection of other drivers, and pedestrians.

There are many moving parts for your braking system to work properly. We inspect all of them and fix what needs repaired or replaced. If you think it’s time for a brake inspection don’t wait until you hear or feel the signs of a problem.  Call today and set up an appointment.

Cooling System Services

Without a way to cool off your engine, your vehicle wouldn’t be able to perform properly. By itself an engine would become too hot and wouldn’t function due to the extreme heat it produces.

There are several important parts to your cooling system and antifreeze is one of them. Half antifreeze and half water runs through your engine to cool it but, like all liquids it will eventually break down and improperly cool your engine. A common sign of this is the temperature gauge on your dashboard increasing.

We recommend that you have your cooling system flushed about every 2-3 years. If you think it’s time for a radiator flush, bring your car in and we can test it for you. If needed we can flush your cooling system right then.

Diesel Service & Repair

Most diesel engines are in work horse vehicles that are pulling or carrying heavy loads. Cooling a diesel engine is one of the most important parts to watch out for. Diesel coolant will become more acidic over time and cause problems for other parts of your car or truck.  Acidic coolant can damage seals and radiator parts leading to cooling failures.

The most important parts of diesel engine longevity is clean fuel, clean oil and clean fluids. All filters for these items need to be checked on a regular basis.  Cleaning your engine filter is important and newer diesel engines have two fuel filters. We highly recommend replacing both filters about every 10-15,000 miles.

diff.jpg

Differential Service & Repair

Don’t know what a differential is?  It’s the big odd shaped box between your wheels in the middle of the axel. You have a differential whether your vehicle is front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, or four-wheel drive.

A differential’s job is to compensate for differences in wheel speed when turning the corner. Your inside wheel has a shorter distance to travel than the outside wheel as you turn. Though that distance is relatively short, that means your outside wheel has to turn faster to keep pace with the inside wheel.

When your differential isn’t working properly, your wheels are not turning at the same speed. This would mean that your tires would scrub and bounce along the pavement. The differential requires lubrication fluid to operate and the differential needs to be checked.

driveline bare.jpg

Driveline Service & Repair

Usually recommended every 30,000 to 50,000 miles/12,000 to 15,000 miles for some all-wheel and four-wheel drive vehicles.  A quick check on manufacturer’s recommendation is the first place to start for driveline service.

Removing and replacing old worn-out lubricants from manual transmissions, front and rear differentials, transaxles, and transfer cases is usually all that’s needed for driveline maintenance. It’s important to do as the driveline handles the torque between the differentials.  Sometimes a driveline can become bent or damaged and needs to be replaced. We can replace your driveline for you and get your vehicle running smooth again.

AWD/ 4WD Service & Repair

Many vehicles on the road are either a 4 wheel drive or an all wheel drive system. We can service all drive systems that are in todays vehicles.

We have the tools and the experience to handle these different systems. One of the most important aspects of these drive systems is checking to make sure they have good clean fluid in the transfer case.  The transfer case distributes the power to the rear or front wheels.  When checking the fluid you may discover that the transfer case has far too much fluid in it.  If it does, this is a problem because fluid is running into it from  the transmission usually caused from a bad seal.  This would need to be fixed immediately.

Give us a call and we can check all your fluid levels and provide overall maintenance of your 4 wheel drive and all wheel drive vehicle.

Muffler System Repair

Need a new muffler?  When your muffler is bad, it usually starts out as a low muffle. It then gradually grows into a noise problem that your neighbors wish you would fix as soon as possible.

All vehicle manufacturers are required to provide specs on each vehicle they produce. In the event you need a new muffler, the garage or service center can simply pick up the phone and order the exact muffler that will fit your vehicle. We have replaced countless mufflers on newer and older vehicles.

Overall Vehicle Maintenance

Every vehicle needs a checkup.  Just like humans, we need to have an experienced physician give us a yearly physical, cars are no different. We inspect, all fluids, filters, windshield wipers, front and rear brakes are checked, along with many of the vehicles connections and electrical systems.

Todays cars and trucks can probably go two years for each inspection but, that depends on how you use your vehicle.  If you own a farm and your truck is working around the clock, then you need it to work perfectly.  If you drive your vehicle two to three times per week then every two years is fine for a check up.

suspension.jpg

Suspension & Shock Repair

Shock absorbers work by taking the kinetic energy (movement) of your suspension and converting it to thermal energy (heat) that is then dissipated into the atmosphere through the mechanism of heat exchange.

Shock absorbers are merely oil pumps that absorb impact and movement.  They force the tire to stay on the ground and work with the suspension in an up and down motion to smooth out the ride.

When shocks go bad they “bottom out”. This means they no longer absorb the up and down movement to smooth out the ride.  They clunk on the down and you feel the clunk in your neck.  When that happens, you quickly discovered that you have a bad shock absorber and it needs to be replaced immediately.

balancing.jpg

Tire Installation, Rotation & TPMS

We have all the necessary equipment for mounting and balancing your tires. We can offer suggestions for which tire is best for you and your vehicle.

Tires today are incredible.  Some tires are better than other but even less expensive tires are good.  It all depends how you use your vehicle. Many new vehicles have a tire pressure monitoring system built into the tire and rim. We can properly install your new tires protecting that system when doing so.

If you need tires, give us a call!
